Well let me start by saying i am so loving reading your comments! I keep praying for more computer time so i can chat with you all. Don't be shy all of you who aren't joining in on the fun yet. There are no right or wrong answers here, just digging through all this info we are taking in will help us to remember it and to apply it to our daily lives.
Does anyone feel bad for Saul? Yuck, just the thought of being on an emotional roller coaster! I totally get that he had his chance and disobeyed, but oh my goodness am i thankful for Jesus work on the cross! First of all when Jesus died His blood covered our disobedience (sin) so that we could be in a right relationship with Him. Second His work on the cross was necessary so we could receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Remember Saul had the Holy Spirit and then He didn't. That is one of the huge differences between Old Testament and New, in the N.T. we are told that once we receive the Holy Spirit we are sealed until the day of redemption! Ladies that means that we have the full power of God within us, we can choose not to get on that emotional roller coaster. We can choose to pursue, chase down, work hard for peace in our life.
One of the reasons i wanted to do this particular study with you all is the crazy dynamics of all the different relationships going on. We are already seeing examples of true and loyal friends, insane enemies and how they all do life together. Reality is (haha) we will see both sides of these relationships in our lives at sometime or another. Hopefully not to the extreme of having spears thrown at us but as i type this the little tune popped into my head "sticks and stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me" THAT'S A LIE! I think you all have been on this earth long enough to know that words do hurt. Ohhh! I'm having a moment here! So would you agree with me that other peoples words can sometimes pierce us like a spear? That being said how many times have you actually been the one throwing the spear? Are you following me here?
POP QUIZ! Does anyone remember the lesson we discussed last week when the ones being attacked became like their attacker?
Darn, I gotta go! My babies just got home from church!
Love you all, stay with it girls!!!!

Oh Mrs. Lori I love you! and I love reading what you have to say!
I toatly agree about the saying sticks and stones..I think acually should be opposite cuz physical scars and cuts can heal but man those mental scars never go away. I dont know about you guys but I was freaking out at the part where I read that saul ACUALLY tried to kill david. I started like talking out loud like "wat the heck! not david" ha I was so amazed that god was with him the whole time and how david wasnt afraid. I could not imagine being in his shoes(or watever they wore back then) ahha I mean if my own kings tired to kill me after all I had done for him I would loose it and prolly not trust god as much as david did. I toatly feel bad for saul! even though it was his bad I just think to not really have god on my side would SUCK! I just love how god is with david through EVERYTHING!!!! I mean when he went to battle to when he almost got killed by saul. I'm just so inspired by david at the trust that he had in his lord God JESUS CHRIST!
How amazing would it be if someone tried hurting us and god was right there defending us so much that anyone who came to hurt us just fell to the groud and prophisized. that was soooo amazing! I know god is right here all the time defending us! its just a matter of will we let him save us or not? I love you girls! =]
I absolutley agree with you. Words hurt just as bad as sticks and stones. I do feel bad for Saul. I feel bad that he's missing out on God, and sorry that he's trying tp kill the "man after god's own heart." I am so glad that we can turn to God in times where people are trying to "kill" us. Obviously, people aren't trying to kill us literally, (I hope not) but people may try to hurt us with their words or criticism about us living our faith out, or being a "jesus freak." We always know we can trust God no matter what, and always run to him. We always need to run to him even if we aren't in a troubled time anyways. I thought it was pretty crazy that Michal helped David get away. She could have been killed. She did lie to Saul, I guess to keep herself from getting killed, but she probably knew she may be killed. I thought she showed some serious love.
I'm really liking this study!! :)
Love to all!!
